Silversea is betting that luxury travellers want more than a cruise—they want access to rare destinations, major cultural events and highly curated experiences. The luxury cruise line has unveiled 103 new voyages for its 2028–2029 season, covering 219 destinations across 56 countries as competition for affluent travellers intensifies.
The programme runs from September 2028 through May 2029 and introduces 29 new ports of call across regions including the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and South America.
Silversea is also designing itineraries around specific experiences rather than relying solely on destination count. Selected voyages will coincide with events and seasonal highlights such as Venice and Rio Carnival, New Year’s Eve in Sydney and Funchal, and Europe’s truffle season.
A major addition is the 75-night Grand South America 2029 voyage aboard Silver Nova, which will circumnavigate the continent and include scenic cruising around the Antarctic Peninsula.
The cruise line is further expanding its S.A.L.T. culinary programme with voyages focused on European wine and truffle experiences as well as Southeast Asian cuisine.
The launch reflects a broader shift in luxury cruising, with operators competing increasingly through personalised itineraries, culinary experiences and access to destinations that offer travellers something beyond the traditional cruise itinerary.
